There were lots of resorts to chose from and I decided to go to the Gran Bahia Principe punta cana. WOW, what a wonderful resort. Beautiful rooms, lots of restaurants à la carte and buffet (huge buffet). The beach was awsome, we could take long walks. We had access to 2 swimming pools. In my opinion, this resort is one of the best in punta cana.

Consider the curious case of Ways and Means Chairman Charlie Rangel, who is leading the charge for a new 5.4-percentage point income tax surcharge and recently called it “the moral thing to do.” About his own tax liability he seems less, well, fervent.Exhibit A concerns a rental property Mr. Rangel purchased in 1987 at the Punta Cana Yacht Club in the Dominican Republic. The rental income from that property ought to be substantial since it is a luxury beach-front villa and is more often than not rented out. But when the National Legal and Policy Center looked at Mr. Rangel’s House financial disclosure forms in August, it noted that his reported income looked suspiciously low. | | I Went On My Honeymoon and Only got Shot at ONCE, then punched in the face! | | Have you ever been some place where you expected to be totally safe and secure only to have that delusion shattered by a catastrophic event like someone getting badly injured or guns being fired in your general direction? I guess when you are told "DON'T LEAVE THE RESORT", it is wise to listen to those that know better. But not me. What fun would there have been in that?So my husband and I gave up the sanctuary of our tropical paradise and the armed security guards and check points and ventured out into Punta Cana's country side to go horseback riding down the beach.The man who signed me up for the excursion told me it would be 2 hours. I didn't know he meant it would take 2 hours to drive there! And vehicles down there are unlike any I have ever seen. A beat up, dented up, old pick up truck pulled up in front of our resort that had seats bolted down into the bed of the truck and some roll bars applied to hang onto for dear life, oh and a ripped up tarp thrown over the top to "keep us safe".We huddle into this truck, my husband and I being the only 2 english speaking people, along with 3 Europeans who only spoke French and who obviously had never ridden horses... | |
| | Where to next? | | The days are just starting to get colder and I'm already thinking about the next place where I can go to lie in the sun. I think that the next vacation I'll take is to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic. I haven't been there yet and would love to go. Where would you like to go on your next vacation? This was our most frustrating story because of the fact that the differences in Ashlee and Ava's appearance weren't being mentioned whatsover, side-stepping a potential goldmine of dramatic material. | | Where was your last vacation? | | I just went to Moon Stone Beach in Cambria, California with my mom to celebrate my birthday. We have made this an annual event. We love the coast and it is so beautiful there. There are two small villages full of all kinds of different shops and restaurants. Cambria offers the best of everything, the beach, shopping and eating. They have a fabulous candy store and we have a lot of favorite shops and restaurants we always go to. It is only about 3 hours away from Fresno, so it's not a long trip. We love it and plan to go again next year. I took my friend this year as well and he loved it too. | |
