Terrorists in South Carolina Must Register Before Overthrowing Government
The State of south carolina, home to Appalachian Trail hiker Governor Mark Sanford, and “You Lie” Joe Wilson wants to keep track of terrorists and subversives residing in the Palmetto state. And in a stroke of bureaucratic Orwellian genius, lawmakers have found a way to monitor terrorist activity. It’s called the “Subversive Activities Registration Act,” and requires that subversives pay a $5.00 filing fee and register with the Secretary of State, before overthrowing the government. Genius, right? The south carolina blog FitsNews, was right on top of this latest development in a bible-thumping state that has its share of colorful characters...Read full story here:http://chattahbox.com/us/2010/02/06/terrorists-in-south-carolina-must-register-before-overthrowing-government/
Now In South Carolina For $5 You Can Overthrow The Government
Well not exactly but a new law in South Carolina has gone into affect recently that requires subversive group to register and pay $5 to be in the state. Now I do not wish to go into a whole first amendment debate here but just want to have some fun with this. Okay you are part of a group that is classified as a subversive group under this South Carolina law. You want to overthrow the government, probably cannot get more subversive than that. So the idea is these groups are going to register with the same government that they wish to overthrow, and the big kicker is it will cost them $5 to do it. Why would anyone think this would work? http://rawstory.com/2010/02/south-carolinas-subversive-activities-registration-act-force/
South Carolina Republican House of Reps finally getting a clue
We all know about what Gov. Sanford did. He abandoned the state, left the country and had an affair. Here is the real shocker. THe man is still in office. Why? Well it is not because the population of SC wants him there. He abandoned us and we want him gone. He has refused to resign. So therefore it was to the state house of representatives to impeach him. Have they done it? No. Why? Well for strictly political reasons. The democrats don't want to impeach him because his replacement (the current lt. gov) would get moved up to Gov. Which would give him an advantage in the next election. Which is more important I guess to the dems than getting teh jerk out of office. Then lets look at the republican side of the house. They did not want to do it because 1. The scandel on the party of having him impeached 2. THey don't really like the Lt. Gov and don't want him to Gov. 3. THey were hoping the whole thing would just blow over.Well it is not going to blow over. The poeple of this state want him gone. So what if the ethics probes said he did not illegal use state money. He is still ABANDONED the state. Well the people have SC have not let this blow over. ANd we have been...
Update: South Carolina Serial Killer
Following news release July 06, 2009 http://www.gaffneyledger.comAuthorities are investigating whether a man shot by police in Gastonia, North Carolina is the serial killer responsible for five deaths in Gaffney, South Carolina over the past week. At 3:am this morning police responded to a burglary call in which the suspect and his vehicle fit the description of the S.C. Serial Killer. The man provided a fake I.D. before pulling a gun and firing on officers. One officer was shot in the foot but is expected to make a full recovery. The suspect died on the scene from multiple gunshot wounds. Police at this time have not confirmed the case is closed and residents are urged to remain vigilant until such time that confirmation of the killer is made. The reward for information leading to the arrest of the killer has been increased to $34,500 mostly in part thanks to local business people who want the killer caught. "[i]Governor Mark Sanford today issued the following statement on the recent string of homicides in the Gaffney area:"We've all watched and been shocked by news of the recent murders in Cherokee County," Gov. Sanford said."I've been briefed by...
South Carolina Soverienty Bill bites the dust.
Well I had such high hopes for my state. We worked really hard on getting this bill passed. But it failed. Why? They debated it and debated it. It got nasty on both sides. A lot of private citizens showed up to lend their support and send notes of support down to their state senators. Senator Mick Mulvaney(R) said, "This is a no brainer. We're talking about our founding document. How could anyone NOT support the Sovereignty Resolution?" Brad Hutto(D) Orangeburg, as part of his filibuster, demeaned those who sent him letters, emails and calls regarding the Sovereignty Resolution. Saying they were part of a "cult". And that the bill was a "waste of time". Sen. John Land, D-Manning said “Is this some kind of a fad or something?I guess South Carolina sometimes likes to do what other states do.” Sen. Vincent Sheheen, D-Kershaw called the bill a waste of time and said they should just move on to more important issues. One state senator (I can't remember his name but I will try to find it) said "If we are not willing to pass this bill then we need to take the keys to the governor mansion and the state legisture and mail them to washington dc".And so the bill died a filibuster...
HELP- If you live on the EAST COAST of USA between South Carolina and New York
I'll be driving from SC to NY in late April and I'm looking for some tourist sites or places of interest to visit. I'll be driving through North Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, Pennsylvania and on to Oswego,New York. Since I'm 62 yoa I'd be more interested in sites someone my age would enjoy. I'd appreciate any information you can give me.
Snow Storm hits North & South Carolina....
Whew!! these places rarely have snow fall during winter.. and now we have snow storm that affects many residence here. According to the news report, there were 100,000 Duke energy customers (Duke energy is the source of electric power) that have no electric power Monday morning March 2, in North Carolina alone... Oh?? I am just thankful to God that we are not affected.. Well, we have 6-7 inches snow but we have electric power. People are stuck up in their homes which is not normal in this state, much more in late winter? it is suppose to be spring in the next few weeks. But anyway, I am enjoying with the snow because this is the first time we have 6-7 inches for the last 5 years I think? because we always have 1-2 inches. It's fun!!!!

Extended Benefits In South Carolina Bankrupt
How can the unemployment extended benefits for South Carolina be bankrupt for laid-off workers in this state? Governor Mark Sanford is in the process to seek money from the government that already passed the bill for these extended benefits. So what's the hold-up?
South Carolina Public Schools Fight for Right to Return Prayer to The Classroom
One year ago, the South Carolina Board of Education presented a case to the State Court to have prayer returned to the classroom. One year later, the fight continues on for the sacred right to make this a legal right of all South Carolina schools. I commend this state on fighting for something as sacred that should have never been taken away in the first place. If it were not for the Atheist organizations, prayer would still be an essential part of every American school ciriculum.
